Enmity Initiated

The battle between good and evil; light vs. dark; love vs. hate...when did it start and why? God initiated it...and we ought to thank HIm wholeheartedly for it! Before the fall there was no knowledge of good and evil; Adam and Eve knew God's will...not to eat of the tree of knowledge. Then along came a jealous serpent who wanted to be like God and got booted out of heaven...so he went to Eve and told her to eat the fruit telling her that God had lied; surely eating the fruit would not result in death! And Eve bought it...after all wasn't the snake one of God's creatures...he looked so nice. So she ate it. And as a result death did enter the world...but it was a blessing...a gift of God so that His people would not have to live forever in sin. He sent an angel to guard the tree of life..but promises us access to it in heaven. How will we get their stained with sin as we are?? Enmity... "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head and you will strike his heel." Thank you Lord for declaring war: good vs. evil; light vs. dark; love vs. hate.

The best will win; the light will always shine brighter; and love will cancel out even the most hateful...God is love!

Trust That Stays Strong

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:7

Its amazing what people put their trust in...money, a good name, personal influence, you fill in the blank _____________. But none of those things can ultimately save us from our troubles, none can fulfill what we truly need, none but God. He is our deliverer, our rock, our redeemer...without Him we amount to nothing, and all our plans mean nothing. It doesn't matter who you are, whether you are a college student in Canada, a struggling business man in Haiti, or a top-of-the line manufacturer in China...without God you are nothing. "They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm" Psalm 20:8. If our trust is in the LORD, if we stand on His promises, if we trust in Him alone... we will stand firm.

Love that never leaves

Once upon a time there was a child. Sad, alone and without a place to go the child sits beneath a palm tree. The eyes of the child are dark and full of sadness, the child’s nose is stuffed, and the child wears only a red shirt. This child wants one thing...hope. This child has one source of joy...besides the people who visit every once in a while and bring gifts and food, but these people come and go...nobody stays. The child really finds joy in God’s love: God NEVER leaves His children alone. He watches over His children and gives them more blessings than they can ever imagine.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." John 3:16-17
